Update on day 6 & weekend in pictures!!
11:00 PMDay 6.....Add margin to your schedule and release WRONG motivations from your life.
Although Greg and I work hard throughout the week we tend to find time during that crazy week to catch a few moments of alone time. Plus, we usually have the entire weekend to enjoy each others company. Sometimes its even shared with our friends or family but all the time its time shared TOGETHER!
With that said, we mainly focused on the second part of this dare....release any wrong motivations from your life.
The Love Dare book explains that these motivations are indicators that are hidden by selfishness or insecurity where LOVE is suppose to rule. These motivations are mainly masked as...LUST, BITTERNESS, GREED, or PRIDE. So, we were asked to list any the wrong motivations that need to be released from our lives.
We both agreed that we need to release PRIDE....Pride leads you to act harshly in order to protect your ego and reputation! Yea, we have A LOT of pride around this house. If you think about it, your spouse is the one you should have the least PRIDE with. Why would we need to be protecting egos or reputation from our SPOUSE?!?!? Crazy right?? I mean, isn't our spouse the one person we should be able to be the most vulnerable with? The one person that should have the least amount of judgement towards the other.
At the end of this dare (which may take longer than just one day) we need learn to not lust after someone elses fortunes or seemingly perfect marriage (everyone has their problems). We should learn to face our unresloved anger so we arent lashing out at our spouse. We should not be greedy and want for more than we really need. Possessions and money are NOT what is going to bring us TRUE happiness. And finally we should not be so prideful. Let your guard down and your spouse in!! You will then find TRUE happiness.
Prepared for DAY 7....
